Active Citizens Fund in Estonia has supported us in the project "Creation of the centers of the five sections of the pilgrimage route. Development and implementation of joint action and internal/external communication of the cooperation network" with €19 999

The results of the Project conducted in March 2023 to April 2024:

Prerequisites and capabilities were created for the start of the cooperation network of Pilgrimage on the principle of section centers and -parents. During the project, we decided in favor of the traditional parish division and to name the section centers as honorary consulates and the elders as honorary consuls, the content of which corresponds more to the function to be performed and motivates the contributors. There are 18 parishes on the Pilgrimage Path. In the form of five "pilot" centers, it became clear which models are possible, functional and sustainable.

The concept and action plan for the operation of honorary consuls/consulates for the years 2024–2026 are ready.

The principles and methods of internal and external communication were agreed upon.

Partnerships were concluded with several relevant organizations/institutions/persons to support development.

In the course of the project, information was collected for the creation of the rest of the section centers and the institution of honorary consuls: it is practical to recruit two or three honorary consuls per parish, because it can be too burdensome for one person.The operational capacity of the NGO Palverännutee increased with the activation of existing network members and the involvement of new, active and motivated contributors.

We fulfill the expectations placed on us to take on the role of supporter/enhancer of the development of people, communities, entrepreneurs, etc., in the areas along the Pilgrimage Route.

2024 is already a pilgrimage year in a certain sense: 8.03. an exhibition lasting until autumn was opened in Niguliste yuseum, which was accompanied by media interest and coverage, we are involved in the program of activities as well as media and PR outputs. The exhibition stands are planned to be sent as a traveling exhibition to museums and visitor centers located on the Pilgrimage Route.

We have started publishing articles in the newspapers of the municipalities on the pilgrimage route.
